• A Fine Day Indeed

As I’m getting everything together for this year’s One Fine Day wedding fair, I’m struck by how much things can change in just a year, and there certainly are changes afoot at I Love Wednesdays!

I’ve felt a little not quite 100% there with the current visual identity of I Love Wednesdays, there’s so much that I love about it, but seeing more and more hand drawn cameras around it feels like it doesn’t belong to me any more. I know that that’s silly, but it’s hard to see something you’ve put so much of yourself into be used and re-used by others. I’ve also always wanted to add more colour, so that’s what we’re doing. One Fine Day will be a preview launch for the new I Love Wednesdays with lots more to come. If you’re in the area or want to have a gander, come say hello and have some tasty treats.

One Fine Day is at Sun Studios 42 Maddox St, Alexandria.

  • Keira + Jack // The Country Trader Wedding

I get vibes from emails, sometimes I just know that it’s going to be something special, and Keira & Jack’s wedding was indeed something special, they truly did things their own way which was so wonderful to see!

There was something about there ceremony that really struck me, everyone was so present. I didn’t think twice about it at the time, but I remember the joy in taking photos of their friends and family laughing along with the ceremony, enjoying the day and I remembered the sign “no photos during the ceremony please” a little reminder to their guests to actually participate in the day. Now, you could say that I’m biased because I’m a photographer, but having recently been a guest at a wedding for the first time in… oh… about 2 years, I can’t tell you how wonderful it was to enjoy a ceremony without a camera in front of me. You actually get to be much more present and in the moment when you’re not thinking about what you’re taking photos of and I cannot express what a wonderful idea it was by Keira and Jack to do it!

The Country Trader provided such a unique backdrop for their reception, it was like a photographer’s paradise. So many wonderful nooks and crannies and so many gorgeous couches for everyone to relax on. It was a perfect representation of Keira & Jack’s amazing style and attention to detail.

  • Vy + Matt // Rose Seidler House Loved Up Session

When I first met Vy & Matt, I met with not just them, but also Vy’s sister Theresa and her boyfriend Pete and Matt’s sister Alexis. What struck me the most about this was the closeness they all shared and how important Vy & Matt’s wedding was to all of them. It would be an understatement to say that Vy & Matt are a amazeballs couple; spending an afternoon with them, and their adorable puppy Molly, at Rose Seidler House for their Loved Up Session was an absolute delight.

Now, they claim not to like PDAs (or public displays of affection for those not down with the acronym lingo) but to see the way that they look at each other is really, truly enough to make you light up and smile. They are goofy, engaging, intriguing, wonderful people who smile with their entire bodies (which I totally didn’t think was possible).

Vy & Matt, thank you for putting your trust in me, even when I made you stand in stairways and under gutters, it was definitely worth the laughs (and the photos, of course!).
